The WA Health Promoting Schools Association Inc (WAHPSA) has been funded by Healthway to produce a third edition of the ‘What is a health promoting school?’ resource as well as update a suite of tools and resources for the WAHPSA website.
We are currently looking for schools that are ongoing Health Promoting Schools (HPS) and that currently have a variety of programs run by teachers, possibly with support from agencies, throughout all or at least most of the school. They need to show how they are working in what was previously the HPS framework and are now the 8 global standards https://www.who.int/initiatives/making-every-school-a-health-promoting-school (they are very similar) across the school.
You are encouraged to look at the Expression of Interest form to indicate your interest in being part of this project. This is a fantastic opportunity to share your schools successes as well as barriers you overcame on the journey of implementing heath initiatives. Learning from others is imperative in the health promoting school space.
If you would like to discuss this further please contact Project Lead Sue Dimitrijevich sue@dimi.com.au or Project Coordinator and WAHPSA Vice President Amanda Ferguson, amanda.ferguson2@education.wa.edu.au
