WAHPSA Board

Our 2025/2026 Committee

WAHPSA has an executive committee made up of volunteers. Our current committee includes:

President – Laura Bryce (Foodbank WA)

Laura Bryce is a public health nutritionist and the nutrition education and cooking program lead at Foodbank WA. Having worked in the world of nutrition education, food literacy, and food insecurity for 5 years, she embraces a holistic approach to nutrition; supporting people to eat a healthier diet of mostly the five food groups but also recognising that larger systems heavily influence what people eat.

Laura has worked predominantly with WA schoolchildren, getting to work with a range of kids from different backgrounds and educators who wish to support healthy eating in their classrooms. She believes in empowerment through education, environmental changes, and policy. In her spare time, she loves to play netball, start renovation projects at home, and spend time with friend and family.

Vice President - Himani Jog (Cancer Council WA)

Himani is the Schools Nutrition Project Officer at Cancer Council Western Australia, and this is her first year on the WAHPSA Committee. She has a Master of Public Health degree, specialising in Applied Public Health from the University of Western Australia.

Himani is passionate about improving health outcomes at a population level through evidence-based practice and is working towards better health outcomes for primary school-aged children across Western Australia.

Treasurer – Noelene Swain (Fresh Finesse)

Growing up on a farm, Noelene developed a deep appreciation for the food we eat—how it’s produced and how to enjoy it at its best. This passion led her to establish a specialist food marketing business, combining her love for food with her expertise in marketing and educating consumers.

With extensive experience in the horticulture industry, Noelene has gained a unique understanding of local fresh produce and its vital link to community health. Her background qualifications in Food and Home Economics, combined with her expertise in marketing, has allowed sharing her passion to eat fresh local food with students from kinder to university level. Noelene’s insights into food production and consumer engagement make her an invaluable asset to our team.

Secretary – Jodi Milnes (Foodbank WA)

Jodi Milnes has always found joy in people, food, and connecting with others over a meal. She has a double degree in Nutrition and Health Promotion and has recently started as a public health nutritionist at Foodbank WA. Volunteering with Foodbank’s nom! Schools program and her church’s youth program throughout her studies played a significant role in developing Jodi’s passion for young people.

The fields of nutrition and community health are not only interesting to her, but also practical avenues for supporting and serving people in the community. She strives to empower and positively challenge people to develop their abilities to live healthy and connected lives. Connecting with her own family and friends over food and in nature are some of Jodi’s favourite things to do.
