Update from Cyril Jackson Senior Campus

June 9, 2017

Cyril Jackson Senior Campus strives to provide its students with as many opportunities as possible to interact with various health agencies.  Our students are from diverse backgrounds many of whom are newly arrived Australians.  Students need to be turning 16 or older to enrol.

Throughout the year we have guest speakers and guest presenters who inform our students about the services offered by their agency and how best to utilise these services.

We also hold an annual health Festival where representatives from over 40 of Perth’s health agencies come along and provide information by conducting interactive stalls. This event is also attending by health students from neighbouring high schools.

The event is seen as particularly helpful for many of the Cyril Jackson students who have had little or no exposure to organised health programs or organisations that are available to provide them with helpful advice about their health.

The past two years WAHPSA has held a networking meeting to coincide with the CJ Health Festival. This has been a successful collaboration and will once again be offered at next year’s event – 16th of May 2018. For more information, contact Deb at debra.fitzsimons@education.wa.edu.au

We hope to see you all there.
