Invitation to participate in a Healthy Food and Drink evaluation

November 4, 2016

The Western Australian School Canteen Association Inc. (WASCA), Curtin University and the Department of Health invite WA public schools to participate in an evaluation of the implementation of the Department of Education’s Healthy Food and Drink policy, introduced in 2007.

Encouraging results from the evaluation in 2009 led to increased training opportunities for canteen staff, in-school nutrition workshops for students and parents, events tailored to the preference and needs of the individual schools and the development of a range of resources.

WASCA are seeking feedback from the following people in each Public school:

  • The Principal
  • Two teachers
  • The manager of the school canteen (if there is a canteen)
  • The President of the Parents’ and Citizens’ (P&C) Committee.

Participation is at the discretion of the Principal and an invitation with further details and the survey link was emailed to your school.

What now?

WASCA encourage you to discuss the survey with your Principal and request they send you the survey link.  The online survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

Responses required by 22 November.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
